Warner's Rust-Proof Corsets
This lovely lady is from the February 1909 Ladies Home Journal. An Ad for Warner's Rust-Proof Corsets. She looks miserable. I watercolored the cells and then layered them for the background. Birdman and man are from an early science drawing.

What to Wear
I found these fantastic sketches and notes of a fashion designer from the 1960's at the Alameda Flea Market. The ladies are from about 1960 and the clothes are early 1950's
Lost at Sea
This is part of my new series - The pattern on the paper is taken from a vintage narcotic prescription pad - it was the watermark of the prescriptions. Most of the people and objects are from the same late 1950's early 1960's period. The boat is an ancient Egyptian bateau, similar to those that ferried people to the afterlife.

Glendura Soil-Proof Wallcovering
This is a wallpaper sample "Glendura - Dutch Stencil" I found in a Popular Home Spring 1953. I love the description on the back that says "Try soiling it with Crisco, chili sauce, jam or similar materials that come in contact with wallpaper in normal usage." I really enjoy constructing domestic scenes.
The Space Between Us
I think I'm going to play with this theme about what's between people for a little while. These two gals are from the late 1940's Mademoiselle.
The Space Between Us
This collage is made from 1950's and 1960's gift catalogs and the pretty gal on the left is from the late 1940's- early 1950's. I like this theme about what's between two people.
